Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day

Massachusetts State House - Hall of Flags
24 Beacon St., Boston, MA 02133
A COLLABORATION OF MASSACHUSETTS REHABILITATION FACILITIES, CONSUMER ORGANIZATIONS, LEGISLATORS, SCIENTISTS, RESEARCHERS, POLICY MAKERS, AND ADVOCATES WORKING TOWARD A COMMON GOAL TO INCREASE AWARENESS AND FUNDING FOR SPINAL CORD INJURY CURE
The SCI Trust Fund was established in 2004 to provide funding opportunities for SCI research in Massachusetts. In 2015 the Fund was modified to increase funding and renamed the Thomas P. Kennedy SCI Trust Fund in honor of the late legislator who served four decades in the House and Senate and was himself a quadriplegic. Five researchers in Boston have received over six million dollars since the Fund began.
Please join us for a complimentary buffet lunch while we network and share updates from our researchers and the Department of Public Health. We will be honoring Patricia Morton, Ph.D. of the W. M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neoroscience at Rutgers University in New Jersey and the late Brooke Ellison as role models in the SCI Community. This event is sponsored by Senator Marc Pacheco, Massachusetts Walks Again, and Sciboston, formerly known as Greater Boston Chapter of United Spinal Association. Please register at www.sciboston.org/sciad so we may obtain an approximate count for those attending.
